Today (Vaishakha Shudda Dwadashi) is aradhana is Sri Brahmanya Thirtharu (1446).

11th pontiff of Sri Vyasaraya Mutt. He was the third descendant from Sri Rajendra Tirtha in the line senior of disciples coming from Sri Vidyadhiraja Tirtha It was to the blessings of Brahmanya Tirtha that the parents of Vyasa Tirtha, (Brahmanya Tirtha's disciples), owed the birth of their children notably Sri Vyasa Tirtha.
As his permanent residence, Brahmanya Tirtha lived mostly at Cannapatna or Abbur in Karnataka State. There he had a Mutt of his own which later he was to entrust to his disciple Sridhar Tirtha. This Mutt which still survives today is called the Kundapur Mutt.His other disciple was the famous Sri Vyasa Tirtha They wanted to construct a mantapa for the Brindavanam( 1461), as per the usual practice. They could not do so. The Brindavanam is exposed to the sun.
Abbur is 6 kms away from Chennapatna.

Sri Bahmanya tirtha is believed to be Sooryamsha sambhoota. A visit to his Brundavan has cured many of their depression. But the preist there is helpless. He cannot even offer you food for money. the manager told me there is no facility there in 1983. now i feel it has improved. go on an ekadashi day.
